Proof of university entrance qualification as well as a first university egree (minimum B.A.) is required for enrollment in the Master degree program in Sociology. You must also successfully complete the aptitude test.

Our Master degree in Sociology is a consecutive program whose course content builds on the knowledge acquired in a first qualifying university degree (B.A.) in Sociology. Nevertheless, "open" admission applies to both Bachelor and Master graduates from all disciplines. Applicant knowledge is assessed in an aptitude test prior to admission.
The purpose of the aptitude test is to determine whether, in addition to the knowledge demonstrated by the previously obtained university degree, the applicant is suited to the specific qualitative requirements of the Master in Sociology at the LMU.
Participation is mandatory for all applicants. The result has a direct impact on admission to the program. More information can be found in the regulations (PDF, 26 KB).
Applications for the aptitude test for enrollment in the following winter semester must be submitted by July 15th.
Applications must be submitted via the online portal for the upcoming winter semester between April 1 and July 15 (cut-off date). Please submit the following documents:
